Welcome to Scholar Athlete!
We are excited to offer our tutoring and training services to your “scholar athletes”. According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), about 7% of all high school players matriculate to play college sports. Only 2% of all high school players advance to pay Division 1 sports. Young athletes must also remember to prioritize their academics as most of their scholarship offers are largely based off of academics. According to Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) it is estimated that between 15- 20% of all student athletes voluntarily quit their scholarships. Either due to academics, loss of passion, or other personal reasons. It is becoming imperative for our athletes to also be “scholars”. As such, this company was created to help bridge both of these worlds for you and your scholar athlete.
Below are some statistics on high school athletes transitioning to playing in college sports.
Football: Roughly 7.3% of high school players compete in college.
Men's Basketball: Around 3.5% of high school players play in college.
Women's Basketball: Approximately 4.1% of high school players compete in college.
Baseball: About 7.5% of high school players make the transition to college sports.
We offer unique services, custom built for young student athletes. Our services are provided by current, and former scholar athletes. Some of our tutors are enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs, while others are graduate students working on their Master’s or Doctoral degrees. Our model for tutoring is a “culturally responsive” model that, along with our educational workshops, are intended to provide valuable academic and personal advice to assist your player, and you, make the best decisions as you begin to prepare accordingly for their scholar athlete’s journey.
A little known fact is that 40% of all student athletes either leave, transfer, or do not graduate from college within 6 years. This means that nearly half of all student athletes lose their scholarships. This is where Scholar Athlete steps in to help provide your “scholar athlete” with the right tutors and trainers to help develop their personal, academic, physical and mental health skills.
Besides academic tutoring and athletic training, Scholar Athlete also offers academic training services such as: Social Media Management, Prep. for College Admissions, Understanding Student Services (counseling, student organizations, etc.) and Financial Aid. Our goal is to provide a wide array of tutors and trainers that will prepare your scholar athlete to be the best version of themselves as they enter the next stage of their academic and athletic development. Please see below for a list of our upcoming workshops.
